Designed to revolutionize the way people purchase albums, offering seamless accessibility and trustworthiness in the process. With a user-friendly interface, detailed album information, and previews, Somic enhances the music buying experience, making it accessible, transparent, and trustworthy. (Personal Project)
DISCOVER
USER RESEARCH
Interviews with 5 recent album buyers revealed frustrations with: platform overload, language barriers on foreign sites,and untrustworthy middlemen. This research informs solutions for a smoother album buying experience.
COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS
Conducted a competitive analysis of existing products which are Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Kpoptown. While all three offer user-friendly interfaces, they cater to distinct audiences and prioritize different features.
Apple Music are best for Apple users with focus on simplicity, but limited features. Amazon Music most variety (vinyl,CDs) and features, but cluttered interface and confusing user flow, While Kpoptown caters to K-pop fans with simple navigation, but lacks features and accessibility.

Some people need an easy and reliable ways to buy a music album because they didn’t want to deal with complicated platform, middleman and a languages barrier

Conducted a usability study with the same group. This hands-on observation revealed specific areas for improvement within our own platform's UX design
